Oldies music

During Sundays, most of the radio stations here in the country turn to old songs. I love listening to 50′s music. It brings back so many childhood memories. No, I am not a child of the 50′s. I was born in the 70′s. But growing up, my mom loved listening to the oldies.

Listening to old music now, remembering my mom… and wishing she was still here.

  1. I know how you feel. I love the old stuff. My parents would pop in the 8 track when iI was growing up and listen to Motown or Earth, Wind, and Fire or something along those lines. Then we’d get in the car and listen to some doo wop or something. So, my childhood allowed me the chance to get well acquainted with music of the past (which was much better than anythign today)

  2. Oldies are my favourite despite being in the 21st century!

  3. Listening to 50s music reminds me of my mom and my grandma too. I also am a child of the 70s.

It’s funny how certain things like music or smells bring back memories that we didn’t realize at the time would be important to us.

  4. As a child I loved listening to my parents’ hi-fi (how old does that term make me?! but that’s what it was called). I still think of my parents when I hear music from the ’40s and early ’50s- and I wish I could have seen my mother (who died far too young) dancing to it.
