Black pins

We have no right to ask when sorrow comes, “Why did this happen to me?” unless we ask the same question for every moment of happiness that comes our way. ~Author Unknown

Do you know those black pins that persons who are grieving for their dead put on their clothes? Chinese people use that. I don’t know if they still do but I remember a college classmate wearing that when her grandfather died. I also remember my siblings and I wearing those pins when we were still kids when a grandaunt died.

I saw those pins when we cleaned the clutter at the storage room. And it struck me that instead of wearing those pins, we should be rejoicing that our dear departed loved one is already past the suffering she endured. And it reminded me that every sorrow that we feel will fade in time. Just like those pins that we stored and have thrown out already.
