Gold coins of my youth and now

Sunday, August 29th, 2010

One of my friends reminded me of those gold coins back when we were kids. Gold coins which were actually chocolate candies. I used to love to collect those when I was a kid. It made me feel like I was rich!

These days, what I want to collect are actual gold coins. Those that can be purchased via the US Gold Bureau. And this time around, it will really have a value unlike the chocolate candies of my youth.

In case you want to know more about investing in or collecting gold coins, just go to USGoldBureau.com now and read information about gold, silver and other precious metals.

AM radio

Sunday, August 29th, 2010

Don’t you just feel like there’s a typhoon whenever the AM radio is on?

I do feel that way. Maybe because when I was a kid, my mom used to turn on the radio to listen to news updates whenever there’s a typhoon in the country. She would wait for the announcement if classes would be suspended or if there were flooded areas near the school.

So whenever I turn on the radio and put it in the AM frequency, expect me to feel nostalgic.

Name names!

Thursday, August 12th, 2010

Memories… memories… Deirdre Mikaela. Raphaela Dominique Louise. Georgia Sophia. Beatrice. Daniella Victoria. Deirdre Marie. Puro babae pala gusto ko maging anak! Hehehe! Kung lalaki: Lestan Antonio.

I used to write down names that I’d like to name my babies or my fictitious characters. Deirdre topped my list. I also remember I loved the name Louise and Sophia before. One of my really good friends Tim named her firstborn Sophia Louise. She’s my goddaughter so that puts those two names out of my list now. I still love the names though.

These days, the name I like the most is Beatrix. If it’s a girl, Emma Beatrix. If it’s a boy, Emmett. Yes, from the Twilight Saga. I really like that name!

Go for gold!

Thursday, August 12th, 2010

Go for gold! A friend told me that. I plan to. In fact, I plan to buy gold coins when my next two paychecks arrive. I plan to invest for my future and that of my family. I plan to be financially stable within the next five years. That’s my goal.

Gold has been old as time. We hear about it from our elders, read about it in history. So what’s the fear of investing in it when it will not go away anytime soon?

If you are interested, just go to USGoldBureau.com now and go invest in gold coins. I will.

Champorado

Thursday, August 12th, 2010

Champorado

My mom would cook this for breakfast, especially if it’s raining. We call it champorado or chocolate porridge to others, if I am not mistaken. It’s a sticky rice concoction that is mixed with cocoa powder, sugar and peanut butter.

Yum!

My aunt cooked it the other day and we happily ate it.

One of my comfort foods… Champorado! Bow!

My comfort zone

Thursday, August 12th, 2010

To find a career to which you are adapted by nature, and then to work hard at it, is about as near to a formula for success and happiness as the world provides. – Mark Sullivan

I hate leaving my comfort zone. That’s a fact. Two weeks ago, I was already planning on leaving my comfort zone to do battle with the rats, the corporate rats, that is. Finding a corporate job. It’s hovering in my mind again.

Of course, I made all kinds of excuses for it not to push through. I don’t want it to push through. But my own happiness will be forgotten, my comfort foregone, if my family needs me to do it.

I am just praying I won’t need to leave my comfort zone. I’ve never been more happy than during the past four years I’ve been working at home.

Field of beauty

Thursday, August 12th, 2010

Lily is looking for hair schools in Wichita when I found her online. She is planning to enter the field of beauty and will soon open her own spa. Since she loves to go to the spa, Lily thought she might as well open her own. But, of course, she needs formal education first. She doesn’t want to enter a business half-ready.

Regency is the fastest growing beauty school right now. They are using a unique approach to teaching beauty in their school. Training while learning the basics. Just what Lily wants.

If you are interested like Lily, just go to RegencyBeauty.com now.

Old songs and mom

Thursday, August 12th, 2010

This song always reminds me of weekends spent quietly at home…

Old Photographs by Jim Capaldi. An old song. And old songs remind me of my mom. And how much I miss her…

How much I regret that now that I can bring her to places she’d always wanted to go to, she’s not here anymore. There were restaurants we couldn’t go to before because we didn’t have enough. Now that I have enough, she’s no longer with us.
