What is one song that you know the lyrics by heart?

I know Smiling Face by James Taylor by heart. Even the second voice and the humming ;)

Whenever I see your smiling face
I have to smile myself
Because I love you (Yes, I do)
And when you give me that pretty little pout
It turns me inside out
There’s something about you, baby (I don’t know)

Carly Simon

Saturday, May 14th, 2011

For old souls like me, hearing the voice of our favorite singers make us feel like we are in 7th heaven. Feels like that for me whenever I hear Carly Simon’s voice. She is my happy voice. The voice in my happy place.

Who’s yours?

Oldies music

Thursday, April 21st, 2011

During Sundays, most of the radio stations here in the country turn to old songs. I love listening to 50′s music. It brings back so many childhood memories. No, I am not a child of the 50′s. I was born in the 70′s. But growing up, my mom loved listening to the oldies.

Listening to old music now, remembering my mom… and wishing she was still here.

Maybe the old songs…

Tuesday, February 22nd, 2011

My sisters would often tease me about the old songs that I love. What can I say? I’m an old soul and proud of it! I love songs of the ’70s and ’80s. And songs from earlier eras.

One of my favorite singers is Johnny Mathis. If you are an old soul like me, you know who I am talking about. He sang Misty, my all-time favorite song. Plus those feel-good Christmas songs. I just love that man’s voice!

Here’s a video of Misty by Johnny Mathis. I hope you enjoy listening to his voice as much as I do…

Happy listening!

;)

Old songs and mom

Thursday, August 12th, 2010

This song always reminds me of weekends spent quietly at home…

Old Photographs by Jim Capaldi. An old song. And old songs remind me of my mom. And how much I miss her…

How much I regret that now that I can bring her to places she’d always wanted to go to, she’s not here anymore. There were restaurants we couldn’t go to before because we didn’t have enough. Now that I have enough, she’s no longer with us.
