When there’s an emergency…

A television network shooting outside the city made sure there is a standby medical air evacuation should something happen to the actors and the production team. There were shooting in a rocky area and we all know how accidents could happen at a time and place when and where you least expect it.

They brought along five motorhomes and one RV for the stars of the show. All the rest are camping out in the area or treks to a nearby town where they rented out rooms from the locals.

I read about it in an online blog dedicated to the show. I kept thinking it will be an adventure for me if I am part of the production team. Imagine trekking in the middle of the night to get some sleep!

Best remedy

best remedy

There was a period in my life when I hit rock bottom. There was very few people I could turn to and they were all busy living their own lives. I felt like I was on my own and I was burdening my family with the problems I created. You know how I was able to cope back then? I went to a place where I could hear myself think. A place where I could analyze the things that happened and where I could unburden all the stuff inside my heart and mind.

I went to church almost every day during that period!

I found that being inside the church when it’s almost empty can help a lot if you are feeling burdened and in need of a quiet place. You also feel so near the Creator when inside the church and you can freely talk to Him and tell Him everything that is bothering you. It helped me a lot. It made everything a little bit better every time I was inside the church. After at least an hour or two inside, I felt light. I felt that I was getting near solution of my problems.

And you know what? I did. It took a while but I was able to solve my problems and I was able to get pass that dark period of my life.

Create a website for your virtual address

If there is one thing I learned to love in the past couple of years that I am blogging, it is creating websites! I learned how to create a website and never looked back. I learned how to code and tweak and studied whatever else related to website creation. You know I do believe that a web site is your virtual address where you can direct your readers. If you have a business, a website is very important because it is the place online where you can direct regular and potential clients to.

I have done a couple of websites for myself and for friends. Nothing too fancy just a place where they can show off their skills and direct potential clients to, while the website I created for myself is where I write my views and opinions on what’s happening around the country.

Creating a website is like giving birth to the sum total of your ideas. It demands my total attention and I willingly submit myself to it. It is like creating a house from scratch. A virtual home, you can say. If you don’t have one yet make sure you set up one as soon as possible. If you have a business and you want to make a mark online, a website is the fastest way to do it. Make sure you have one. It is your virtual address/office, you know.

I am participating in a blog campaign from Bucks2Blog for an online website builder company and was compensated. However, the views and opinions are my own.

Last 10 years of my life

If you only had ten more years to live, would you do anything differently?

If I only have ten years to live I will change the way I live my life. I will spend it alternately traveling by myself and spending every minute of the rest being with my family. I will sleep very little and will spend every waking moment doing what I have always wanted to do. Road trips, meeting up with friends, writing nonstop (so I can leave something behind) and putting everything into perspective so that the love ones I will be leaving behind won’t have to be burdened with whatever unfinished business I might have.

That’s what I will do. I will make sure that I will create memories, ones that will make my love ones remember me for as long as they live.

You know I’ve always been a passive person. I always let life pass by. But if I know I only have a couple of years left to live, I’d make sure to go out with a bang!

What about you? What will you do if you know you only have ten more years to live?

The masters in business administration paid off!

For the longest time my sister had her eyes on a food franchise business. She even had possible locations already in mind. What she did was wrote a proposal to me with all the details of the food franchise business she wanted us to open together. Seeing the potential, I immediately agreed to her proposal. But since we only have a one-time shot at it with limited capital, we wanted to make sure we really know the ins and outs of a business so we enrolled in a business school. We took up masters in business administration together where we had so much fun bonding over lessons and meeting potential business associates. Not only did we learn a lot from those MBA classes but also the time we spent together bonded us like no other.

Personally, I think getting an MBA is recommended if you are serious in putting up a business. It is still best to learn the theories in business administration and then using it in creating a successful business like the food franchise business that my sister and I put up. It is doing great and my sister and I are deliberating whether to put up another food franchise business elsewhere in the city. A new one that is currently very “in” at the moment.

At least we both know that the masters in business administration that we took paid off!

Threatened by cancer

If you know me or have been reading this blog, you know that my mom died of complications brought on by a rare kidney disease. It was a form of cancer, we were told later on. It was devastating seeing a loved one die and her life shortened because of cancer.

So whenever I hear of someone’s life threatened by cancer, I get angry. I get angrier when I hear that a medicine that is supposed to cure instead damaged a person even more! Like Actos which should help diabetics but actually causes bladder cancer. Get an actos cancer attorney and get the culprits! If you are threatened by cancer, fight back!

Helping out

One of my uncles asked me to help him out with locating a SN100C which his boss asked him to get. I am not too familiar with it except that I found one online at Fine Line Stencil and that the company offers only those of highest quality products.

When it comes to family I really help out when I can. Run errands, help with online stuff, and so on. Since I am always around and have enough time to spare, I take some time off work and extend help as long as I can do it. That’s being family to me.

City of Pines

I miss Baguio City! I want to go back and stay there for a few days. I want to go back and see all the old tourist spots I’ve been to at least three times already. I will never get tired of Baguio and will forever be going there as a tourist.

BenCab Museum

My sisters and I declared that Baguio City will be our adopted hometown. We promised ourselves that we will go there at least once a year. But this year we were not able to go. I am hoping we can go back next year during summer.

It’ll be so much fun to go back and enjoy the cool weather!

Inspiration to others

Truth be told, I feel inspired by others. They know what they want even at a young age. They take all the necessary steps in order to embark on the journey towards their goal which is to start a career on what they want. They study hard and then later on train hard so as to get the job they have their eye on.

One of the inspiring people I know is looking for Dietetic Technician Jobs. Ever since she started high school, she already knew what she wanted to become. Can you imagine that?

When I was in my teens, I wanted to become a doctor, an obstetrician to be exact. But then my mom encouraged me to become an accountant as she said every industry needs accountants in their companies. And she’s right. Of course later on I realized that my passion really lies in writing. So here I am now…

Adele’s eyelashes

My sister and I have been raving about how lovely Adele’s eyelashes and eye make-up are. We know that it’s fake but we want the real one for us. My sister is checking out the best eyelash growth product in the market right now. She is really bent on getting those lush lashes on her!

I think if I have Adele’s voice, anything else will be secondary. Have you heard the lady’s voice? My goodness! It’s like an angel is singing to you. You never want the song to ever end! My favorite song of hers is Someone Like You. But, of course, I also like her other popular songs Chasing Pavements and Rolling in the Deep.

Going back to her eyelashes… I’d really like that one!

I wish I can say the same…

In this house

If you come from a large family like me, you know that it’s more chaos than harmony most of the time. There are squabbles, arguments, never-ending discussions, and grudges. It’s part of family life! It gets annoying from time to time. There are days when you feel like strangling your very own sibling. There are days when you are wishing that you were born with a different set of parents. That’s life!

Right now, I am leaning more on being alone than being part of a large family. I am so annoyed with a sibling that I want to kick the sibling out of the house! If only I can do it…

Next year…

RSS Feed

Your rss feed analytics is very important if you are serious in your blogging. Do you know that? You might ask why it is important. Let me tell you why. You see, your rss feed is your way of sending out to others the content of your blog. Those who are interested in your blog content can subscribe to your rss feed and they can either get every update you make to your blog in their email inbox or they can read it via their feed reader. That’s what your rss feed can do.

Now when it comes to your rss feed analytics, it is important because that’s where you can analyze what your reader and subscribers like about your blog. What have you written about that your readers like a lot? What specific topic that your blog dishes out that your subscribers are going back to again and again? You will know all that and even the demographic of your blog audience through the rss feed analytics. If you don’t know how to go about it just go to FeedCat.net and register to become a member. They can help you send out your rss feed to others via the buttons they offer. Go ahead and check it out!

My own bedroom

Own bedroom

Sometimes I feel so bitter about things. Is it too much to ask for my own bedroom? I think not. I think it’s a little thing to be wishing for and yet one that hasn’t happen yet. I don’t know why I don’t have my own bedroom when I am earning more than what the average worker gets. Sigh. Everything hinges on next year…

You know little things matter. Whatever others say, the little things that we keep on ignoring and taking for granted, those are the things that matter a lot to most. Can you imagine someone like me wishing for her own bedroom for years? I’m sure some of you trash your bedroom or make it seem like a prison. For people like me who’s been sharing a bedroom with her siblings since I was of age, a bedroom is a haven and a luxury that has been out of reach due to limited space inside the house.

If you only knew…

Three medical specialists

When my mom was diagnosed with her kidney disease, at least three doctors were simultaneously monitoring her condition. One for her kidneys alone, another doctor for her heart, and the last one for her other internal organs. We were very lucky all three specialists were in the same hospital. They were able to communicate easily with each other.

But what if the doctor that another doctor wants to talk to is in another country? How could they communicate effectively every time they need to? Ask Jennifer Sun MD and she will tell you that Doximity is the answer! Go ahead and learn more about it.

Do you know the way?

That is the first question I ask whenever my friends and I have to go on an out of town trip. Do you know the way? Because if not, bringing a gps nuvi with us is a must. I am not really good with directions. If I manage to pass by the same way for a couple of times, then I remember it. But if not, if it will just be based on an address or a general description of the place, then I will get lost.

The same goes for my friends. We are a bunch of headless chickens if we go some place we don’t have a map of. And why make it hard for us when there’s a portable GPS that we can bring with us, right?

The value of money

One of the things that my mom taught me and my siblings was the value of money. She made sure we know how to save up because we can’t always be working hard each and every single day. We will all grow old. Time will come when we will be in need of funds that we can use for when we are sick. Or when we want to spend some on pampering ourselves.

She taught us to save and invest. When a friend offered to help me with morgan dollars, my mom was the first person to pop inside my head. I know that she would want me to take investing seriously. It’s not only for my future but for the family as well.

I work hard every single day. I know the value of money and I know that if I don’t do something with my earnings, I might find myself without anything saved for the future.
